Welcome Nurse Kim!
My name is Kim Oliver, and I am a registered nurse enthusiastically joining your SMES team! To share a bit about me, I grew up in Cincinnati, went to Vanderbilt University and following graduation worked at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital on the surgical floor. In 1982, I married my husband, Bo, moved to Dallas and took a nursing position at Pediatric Associates (PAD), thus concluding there is a chance that I may have given some SMES parents their immunizations! My passion for pediatrics remained strong so post having our own, now grown children, Brooks, Reed and Claire, I continued my pediatric nursing at HPPresbyterian Day School, Inwood Village Pediatrics (IVP) and most recently, Armstrong Elementary.. My hobbies include mahjong, needlepointing, bike riding and enjoying our three Labradors!
My days serving the SMES community will include handling emergencies, providing first aid, immunization compliance, dispensing daily prescribed medications, and evaluating your children as needed, allowing them to learn and feel safe during the busy school day. I plan to incorporate both teaching and reinforcing basic health lessons with your little ones along with educating our staff regarding medical updates and safety protocol throughout the school year.
I am eagerly looking forward to meeting you and your children!
