Weekly Chapel
At Saint Michael Episcopal School, we believe helping children develop a relationship with God is an important part of building the character of our students. Weekly chapel has become a special time each Wednesday morning when all of our PreK and Kindergarten children gather to engage in an age-appropriate service. Our young friends participate in the processional, recessional and weekly prayers. We invite parents to join us any time, especially if their child is helping that week or receiving a birthday blessing. Whether teaching about God’s love, being a good neighbor, helping others in need or how we can all be examples of Christ, Father Greg Pickens is able to relate to them in a meaningful way each week. Our Toddlers and Twos attend weekly chapel service where they too sing favorite songs and learn some of the most meaningful stories from the Bible.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
We are also happy to now be able to incorporate The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd into the curriculum for our oldest classes. We believe that teaching the Christian faith through this environment will only enhance their understanding of and relationship with God.
Teachers are able to incorporate these lessons into their daily classroom activities as well. We feel it is never too early to talk to little ones about God’s love for all of us.
